The source of confusion had to do with the difference between Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts. Joe described "Medicare for the Lazy Man" as being very helpful but he still some reassurance after a "professional" advisor hired by his company made the assertion that "nobody buys High Deductible Plan G"! That guy gets paid more when people like Joe are forced to spend more.

Finally, many congressmen are as opposed as we are to the government's proposed plan to add limited prior authorization regulations to Original Medicare. So far, nobody thinks this will be a good idea!

The category selected for a deeper dive was the one entitled "Rates & Financial" We took a look at the current Plan G rate increases caused by our inflationary economy. By comparison, the rate increases given to high deductible plans are often $0 and rarely more than a token amount. This is one of the excellent benefits of High Deductible Plan G!

The Fleetwood review of my newest book: "Medicare for the Lazy Man: BARE BONES" is a dire warning that it was written by (gulp) an INSURANCE AGENT! To quote the review: BEWARE!
Returning to format, we began with the Medicare Advantage Minute: BC/BS of Texas announced the cessation of sales commissions for all of their MA plans.
In the Your Medicare Benefits 2025 we address the Welcome to Medicare Preventive Visit and learn what is included as well as how Medicare will cover it.
Department of Corrections: A previous trivia item about the origin of the Pink Panther had to be corrected.
Finally, we dipped into the folder labelled "Correspondence" to enjoy some Q & A about two distinctly different situations. As an aside, both principals are now happy clients of mine, and I am happy to have them!
