If it is medically necessary, can be used in the home and projected to have a useful life of at least three years, you might be looking at what Medicare calls DME.
Be prepared to pay rent on most items for a time before they become yours to keep. If your provider accepts Medicare payment, the DME is likely to become yours at a very reasonable price.

A regular, run-of-the-mill, POA allows the guardian to make financial decisions on behalf of the person in need of assistance; but for Medicare it has no power at all.
On the other hand, a medical POA is a durable Power of Attorney which allows the patient's proxy to enforce treatment preferences and express the wishes of the patient.
This according to Diane Omdahl, Wisconsin Medicare expert.

IRMAA is the "Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount" designed to penalize the most successful and productive Americans by adding a surcharge to the monthly cost of Medicare Part B or a prescription drug plan.
The Big Texan offers the opportunity to enjoy a 72 oz. steak dinner free of charge.
Take your choice, but each alternative has pluses and minuses. Financially successful people at least have the means to prosper in spite of the penalty. Those who accept the Big Texan challenge get to enjoy a tasty steak dinner.

Medicare Part A has a "per occurrence" inpatient deductible of $1556 in 2022. That is an increase of $72, as opposed to the $30 increase last year.
Medicare Part B has an annual deductible of $233 next year. That is an increase of $30 as opposed to the $5 annual increase last year.
Elections have consequences, people!
