High deductible supplement plans: High Deductible Plan F (HDF) for those born before 1955 and High Deductible Plan G (HDG) for those born in 1955 and afterwards.
For those who are generally healthy, high deductible plans are a terrific combo of limited cost sharing and very low monthly premium. Don't expect to hear about them from those other commissioned agents.
In the MLM Mailbag: Eric, newly 65, wants to know whether he should enroll in Medicare Parts A & B now or stay with his employer's group plan. The good news for Eric is that he can do either without any negative consequence. If he likes the group plan and doesn't mind the contributions and cost sharing he should stay there until retirement. Otherwise, Medicare is his for the taking. Best of both worlds!
