Insurers pull Medicare Advantage plans as profit pressures mount: This from the "Medicare Advantage Minute"

In the "Your Medicare Benefits 2025" we learn how Medicare is likely to cover Outpatient hospital services.

Friend of the podcase, Steve sent an article addressing "Targeted Medicare Cuts" and how they can save money while reducing risk.

How about a side trip to Social Security Land? Someone named Rusty has an advisory column and fielded a question from a reader about when the best time might be to start collecting Social Security benefits might be.

Normally Democrats are on the opposite side of almost every possible subject from me but we now find ourselves connected like Siamese twins over support for the freedom from prior authorization in Original Medicare.                                        I am dazed and confused by my unexpected alliance!

Finally, we have a new member of the podcast audience who hangs her hat in South Dakota ...er Nebraska sometimes.

Ep. 847 - Correspondence has arrived: the kind of mail I absolutely HATE to receive!

We start off with the Medicare Advantage Minute:                                               "The Great Medicare Advantage Contraction Appears Set to Continue!"

Then, in the "Your Medicare Benefits" segment we learn how Medicare is likely to cover "Other Transplants. These are not organ transplants, but might include stem cells, bone morrow and corneas.

In the afore-mentioned "Mail I Absolutely hate to Receive" segment, yours truly is kicked in the teeth by a marital difference of opinion.

After that we are treated to a communication about the horrible consequences that one man is enduring as a result of ignoring my often-repeated advice.                Part of the tragedy? Having to stifle the "I told you so!" urge!

Why do I have to call somebody to get a Medicare supplement (medigap) quote? In my opinion, the reasons presented in this article are bogus. If you go to my website MedicareForTheLazyMan.com and fill out a questionnaire, you will receive quotes for several  (usually at least 1/2 dozen) Medicare supplement companies drawn from my portfolio of excellent insurance companies by return e-mail.        No need to call anyone!

Finally, where are the most beautiful hospitals in the USA located?                     Hint: the facility judged most beautiful of all is NOT located in Massachusetts!

This is all about helping with the ADLs (activities of daily living). I used to think it had something to do with gainful employment.

Client Howard writes to ask whether he is obligated to attend a Medicare Wellness visit even though his doctor pesters him to do so. Howard is suspicious that there might be a "truckload" of money involved, somehow.

Ep. 840 - SSA Medicare application processing is apparently being performed by turtles!

In the Medicare Advantage Minute we hear even more detail about the difficulties United Healthcare seems to be mired in. The Department of Justice is investigating charges of Medicare fraud & anti-trust violations. 
So what else is new?

Your Medicare Benefits 2025: Obesity Behavioral Therapy and how Medicare might cover that if you needed it.

Soon-to-be-client Mary is wondering what action she should take to find out where her Part B Medicare application is hung up. Fortunately, Mary is an overachiever who has submitted her application early enough before her deadline that there is unlikely to be a troubling delay. That is not true for many other applicants!

"Big Fan Terry" checks in to report that his choice of a High Deductible Plan G worked out great. His Medical treatment has resulted in only a small out-of-pocket expense and his recent 8%rate increase amounted to a frightening $4 per month!
