Insurance premiums should have been deducted from Social Security payments. Lots of people woke up months later to find their insurance companies dunning them for past-due premiums or cancelling coverage outright. Eventually all were made whole but only after a period of angst.
Following that was the heartbreaking story of Mark and how, through persistence, he managed to solve his frustrating problems while breaking MY heart!

For those waiting for approval of a Medicare application or an IRMAA appeal, the wait can seem interminable. Recent feedback tells me that consistency is out the window. Each office seems to operate in its own vacuum.

Government audits have uncovered pervasive overcharging on the part of insurance plans that survive and thrive by feeding at the government trough.
All of the audited plans, except for two, have been accused of submitting inaccurate data and overstating the severity of client health conditions. These tactics result in large overpayments of tax funds to undeserving Advantage plans.

One sure-fire way to do it is to dip into the Federal Government's very deep pockets. I think I will start a Medicare advantage insurance company and "miscalculate" the number of really sick insured clients I have.
Yeah, that's the ticket! What could possibly go wrong with that?

An article from the relatively recent past recounts the hundreds of millions of your tax dollars funneled into the coffers of mismanaged Medicare Advantage plans.
One vehicle for this theft is a benign sounding request for details of the clients' health history. The plans then turn around and bill the government for the "additional risk" they purport to have found.

The extra risk one accepts when purchasing the high value "HDG" is measurable and MLM has created a tool to do exactly that.
HDG almost always packs the biggest bang for the buck. However, the older the client, the smaller the risk and the better choice that high deductible plan turns out to be!
